Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins is a Mexican American sportscaster. She is an ESPN anchor for news and also hosts SportsNation often. Her first assignment with ESPN in the year 2016. The daughter of TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is a bilingual woman and has been since her age of nine. Her ability in this area has helped her get her first position at Univision, Miami. She worked as a producer for national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Her first job was as an reporter at the CBS St. Petersburg affiliate in the following year. In 2009, she relocated into Rio Grande Valley to work as a journalist at KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. Reporting on stories about trafficking in drugs and immigration on both sides of the Texas-Mexico border, she worked as a reporter for five minutes of the p.m. Spanish newscast a reporter and later anchor of anchoring the 9 p.m. newscast in English and also a reporter again for 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. The station also frequently asked her to be a sports and weather anchor. Then she became anchor and reporter for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. She was then given larger responsibilities. She covered The Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys and the NBA Postseason as well as the finals of FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. In addition she was also the host and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. The show was commissioned as a sports anchor by Despierta America Deportes for their morning show. She also served as an anchor on sports on Primer Impacto, a magazine program that airs on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta's parents hail from Veracruz Mexico. The girl was born on November 22nd on the 22nd of October, 1984 in Mexico City. She has an older sister. Her family relocated into Miami in 1992 after leaving Mexico. In 1992, her parents separated soon after. In 1995, she got married again Fabio Fajardo who was naval engineer, who passed away in the year 2006 after suffering from kidney cancer. While on a trip with the family in Ohio, the younger Collins took a place with her older sister. Antonietta is a senior in high school, yet she knew exactly what career path she wanted to pursue. So while assessing if Mount Union was right for her, Antonietta went to visit the campus. The campus was beautiful and offered the degree she sought. Her studies were completed and she was admitted to the university for a master's degree studying media and communication studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor - was also the director of WRMU (91.1 FM) which was where she felt at home. He encouraged her to have confidence and also his love in journalism was a huge influence on her. She, was determined to live up to his expectations and never let him down.
